Stinking Indian guest house called - Park Family

When I reached Hotel Castle, Suwon it was almost 11:30. A guy from Park Family was waiting for me. I kept my luggage in his car and we headed towards Park Family guest house. After about 10 mins we reached the guest house. Then a guy who did not look like an Indian or Korean opened the car door for me and took out my luggage and said "App aayiye bhaayisaab, appko room dikhadeta hoon". I thought who the hell is this guy? Korean or what? How does he know hindi. Then I came to know he is a Nepali. Yeah you find Malayalis and Nepalis everywhere isn't it... :-)

It was already about 12:05 am I had yet to have dinner in the guest house kitchen. First the Nepali guy said he will show me the room. Because of the long and tiring flight I was hoping for a clean, comfortable room and bed. Tomorrow morning at 8:30 I have to be at office. :-(
Then finally he took me to a room. It was a basement room. As soon we reached the building where my room was, I felt dizzy and felt as if my nose hair are on fire. The building was stinking. It was a weird smell. I don't know what it was.

When I entered the room I noticed that the room was stinking too. It was not as bad as outside the room, but still it was horrible. All the windows were closed, So I thought may be the room was closed for a long time. That is why it is stinking so bad.
The Nepali who came with me pointed at a some switches and said 'wo paani aur kamra garam karta hai' Told me how to on the water heater. After he left I was searching for windows. There was only one small window. I tried to open it, but couldn't since one of its edge was bent. There were no other windows in the room. Surprisingly not even in the toilet. Then I finally turned on the AC hoping that the smell will go off.

I went to the kitchen and had some chapatis, met my team mates on the way back to my room. Told them the room is stinky. They said here all rooms stink. Tomorrow when they clean your room then it will be all right. Then I returned to the room, it was cold but still stinking. Then I thought, Just need to spend this night and tomorrow it'll be clean.

Set the alarm at 7:30 on my cell phone and went to bed. It was difficult to sleep with room stinking and bed was not super clean either. It really took me a long time to fall asleep.

Next morning I woke up when my land-line phone rang, it was my colleague. There was no battery in my cell that's why alarm dint go off. Damn...! It was 9 o'clock. Late on first day... oh man... !!! I turned on the water heater to take bath. I waited around 5 mins for hot water still there was no hot water, waited 10 mins still no hot water then 15, 20 still no fucking hot water... It was 10 degrees outside.

I didn't have time, so I just filled a bucket with cold water and held my breath tight, then poured the bucket full of water on my head. I can't explain the feeling and pain... Just try sometime taking bath with cold water in 10 degrees. What the hell can you do, I HAD to take bath with the cold water, otherwise 2 days of travel and sweat would have stunk my entire office campus... :-)

Ran to kitchen to eat something, only to realize that their is just cornflakes and bread. No other option. Had some cornflakes then told the Nepali guy that heater is not working. Please check. He nodded affirmatively. I was hoping that at least in the evening I can take a hot shower...

Transition

... ahh after a really uncomfortable flight, finally our flight landed at Hong Kong airport. After entering the Hong Kong airport I quickly searched for Cathey Pecific counter in the airport map . I noted down the path and started walking towards the counter. It was almost 2 Kilometers away, but I hardly noticed since I was busy admiring the beauty of different countries. You know what I mean... :-)

When I reached Cathey Pecific counter, the female sitting in the counter wrote a gate number 67 on the ticket and pointed towards the direction to reach the gate.
As I started walking towards the gate I was subconsciously engaged in booty.. I mean beauty... admiration, slip of tongue... ;-).

After walking for a while I reached a train station. I was confused... I thought where the hell did I reach. Then I asked a security guard who was standing there about the direction by showing her the ticket. She pointed towards the train. I asked, do I have to board the train. She did not speak a word... again pointed at the train. Then I realized most of the Chinese don't speak English and It's really good for us Indians... :-)
I was thinking I just want to go to the gate 67, not to the next city...

Then I saw a lot of people boarding the train, So I also followed them. After about 3-4 mins the train stopped, as soon as I stepped out of the train I saw direction to the gate 67. I felt relieved.

I know about the size of China and obviously about their population, but I did not know their airport was humongous.

After getting out of the mini train, I had to walk again for a KM to reach the gate 67. After reaching the gate 67, I still had almost 3 Hrs to kill. I started roaming around, observing different types and kinds of people, Shot some nice pics of people and plains with my 5MP cellphone cam. It was fun, totally a new experience...

Off to Korea

...as soon as I stepped inside Dragon airlines and took a glance at the seat numbers, I realized, my worst fear had come true. I had got the "Middle seat". The plane had 2+4+2 seats and my seat was 4th from the right...
There was nobody sitting in the row yet. So thoughts of Humpty Dumpties sitting on my both sides and snoring all night started giving me the chills. As I was tensed and worried, a normal sized guy came and sat on my right. I thought to myself "shitty luck as always...". Then after sometime +sized middle aged man started coming towards my left seat... My heart started pounding. I was shouting inside... "No not a guy... and definitely not this guy..." " He needs at least 2 seats... If he sits here then where the hell will I sit..." "this can't happen to me...!"...

Then luckily he went past my row. Then 2 mins past, still no one came to my left seats... 3 mins past... 4 mins past my heart was pounding... finally after ~6 mins 2 cute Korean girls came and sat beside me (How do I know they were Korean...? I can differentiate between Korean and Chinese when someone talks. I have seen hell lot of Kung-Fu movies and a lot of Korean movies). It was a sigh of relief.

I smiled at the girl who sat immediately next to me... She smiled back... :-) Actually at that moment I was really happy... not because a cute girl was sitting next to me, more than that I was happy for the fact that I was not sitting between some fatsos...

Then after approximately an hour the girl sitting next to me started feeling cold I guess, So she asked for an extra blanket, but the air hostess immediately said in a Chinese accent, "we don't have any extra blankets...". I thought "wow... what a Chinese hospitality, how can you not have an extra blanket". I offered the girl my blanket as I was having my jacket. Yes... Yes I know... I'm very chivalrous when it comes to cute girls... now stop smiling...

Luckily she took the blanket... otherwise it would have been very embarrassing...:-)

Most of the night I couldn't sleep since the seat was very uncomfortable... Afternoon around 12:10 our plane reached Hong-kong airport. The Korean girl who was sitting beside me thanked me for the blanket with a cute smile... I thought, this is a nice beginning of my day... :-)
